Research On Chinese Coastal Urban Residents' Variety Track And Influence Factor Of Baseline Consumption Level

In recent years, how to expend domestic demand to achieve Sustained economic growth of China has been a keen concerned topic. Correspondingly, consumer-related issues became hotspots concerned by scholars and policymakers. Baseline consumption, as a part of consumption, reflecting the basic consumption level what maintain basic life need also should obtain much attention.Based on the coastal urban residents' per capita baseline consumption, the paper analysis the Variety track and contracture of the baseline consumption, and compares it with actual consumption, national baseline consumption and Low-income residents'actual consumption. Finally, the paper has made qualitative and quantitative analysis about the influence factors of baseline consumption. Each chapter main contents as follows:The first chapter briefly introduces background, current research at home and abroad and research ideas of this paper.The second chapter defines the concept of baseline consumption and discusses some measuring methods problems of baseline consumption.The third chapter, based on the urban income and consumption data of coastal 12 provinces and cities, estimates the coastal urban residents' per capita baseline consumption level, using the extended linear expenditure system model. In the estimates of ELES, Period SUR weighted method and Panel Data model are used to avoid the same section units possible relevance of different period. Through the analysis of the coastal urban residents' per capita baseline consumption, the paper draws the following conclusion:(1) Coastal urban residents' baseline consumption is increasing year by year and the gap with actual consumption also has been increasing. Namely the excessive consumption per capita is increasing year by year. (2)The basic consumption increase of Family equipment products and services, Medical care, Traffic and communication, housing makes a contribution to the growth of the baseline consumption. (3)China's western urban residents' baseline consumption level is obviously below the coastal areas', and the gap shows an increasing trend.The Low-income residents' disposable income per capita even have not reached the coastal urban residents'baseline consumption level.The fourth chapter makes qualitative and quantitative analysis with the baseline consumption's influence factors and finds that except the disposable income Per capita the former baseline consumption, elderly population burden coefficient and residents'cultural hierarchy can also impact the baseline consumption level. Finally, in chapter 5, this paper puts forward relevant policy suggestions on how to ascend baseline consumption level and optimize baseline consumption structure.
