The Empirical Analysis On The Urban-rural Income Gap Of Hubei Province

The problem of income allocation is one of the oldest topic in the research of sociology and economics. In recent years, with China's reform, especially the deepening of the reform of income distribution, the living standards of urban and rural residents has been greatly improved, while the interest bodies and social structure also have been greatly changed.The differences of wealth possession condition beween residents that come from different regions and classes make the income gap widen, of which is the most prominent in urban and rural income gap. Income gap can make the people work positively and promote the efficiency growth. However, if the gap is over or continuely expand, the social and economic negative influence is very obvious. Therefore, it is very important of understanding the urban-rural income difference in the objective conditions, the forming reason and its influence to promote the steady growth of economic and to construct a harmonious society.In this paper, I mainly studied on the urban-rural income gap of Hubei province. On the basis of both at home and abroad research that background, significance and related study, I analyzed the specific performance and the formation mechanism of urban-rural income gap in Hubei, and gave some countermeasures and suggestions about narrowing the urban-rural income gap.The innovations of the paper are: the first one is that I gave a comprehensive description of the situation of the urban-rural income gap in Hubei through various indexes since reform and opening up, especially for index selection, data processing, which improves the reliability and authenticity of the analysis. The second one is that I made the principal component regression to 12 indexes, which overcoming the contradiction of collinearity produced from multivariables and giving the influence direction and the degree of most indexes to the urban-rural income gap.
