Study On The Issue Of Distribution Centers Based On GIS

Distribution center is an important component of modern logistics. The reasonable location is that maximizing economic performance on the premise of the minimizing of comprehensive costs, But the study on this cannot be isolated, it should be combined with the Geographic Information System(GIS) to get the result of the exact location.Firstly the shortcomings of distribution centre location are found out, by studying on the cases of it, and then the method of location combined with GIS is brought out. Secondly the elements, including capacity, the characteristics of area and the range of capacity that make a difference to location is analyzed, then the area characteristics of location is evaluated with the method of Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP), the most important elements which influence on location were got. Based on all these, the model of Multi-distribution Location is brought out. Finally the K Company's computer accessory system of distribution center location is taken as sample, and the specific method and technique for implementation of the distribution center location theory is studied, so as to verify the validity of the theory above.The main conclusion is that when distribution center location is in process, the influencing factor should be added; with the method of combining location with GIS, the location will be more exact and the cost of distribution will be reduced greatly.This distribution centre location based on GIS that is studied on this paper has been achieved satisfactory. It has certain reference value to logistics companies both in theory and practice.
