Forest industry has been the major industry in the progress of Heze's economy. In recent years, forest industrialization of Heze had brought remarkable economical benefits to many peasants and showed good ecological and social benefits. Located at Yellow River alluvial plain, the soil of Heze is very suitable to the growth of many trees, just like poplar, paulownia and so on, so Heze has some advantages of natural resources. And now, there are 4,000,000 mu woodlands, 10,820,000 mu forests in farmlands, 3800,000 mu intercrop of crop and paulownia. The ratio of forest to land is 28.6%. The retainable forest is 13,200,000stere, about sixth of total retainable forest in Shandong. The total production value of forest is 10 billion Yuan. There are more than 2,984 forest industrial corporations until 2003. The Dongming poplar floss slurry Ltd., which major product is flakeboard, and Chengwu Senli manmade board Ltd., which major product is moderate density fiberboard had became one of the ten major forest corporations. And we have brought up another 15 major forest corporations.
