Due to its unique feature, the development of Tibet lags behind. Poverty, this issue in rural area is especially prominent. The work done for improving the situation, which has received a lot of attentions from all everyone, has been extremely difficult. Based on the author's experience of supporting Tibet, this article sets up a case of Linzhou County, where the author has been, using theories and methodology of sociology and combining the actual situation in Tibet. On summarizing the achievements done by the supportive work and development towards Tibet, this article describes the situation and features of poverty problem in Tibet and explores the reason of poverty step by step from the point of view of nature, economy, society and culture. From this basis, it concludes and explores scientifically in four aspects which are: a) the pattern of development path for supporting the rural area as "move, construct, control" thus to improve the living and working condition of farming area; b) the control of the population increase and adjustment of the placement to increase the quality of working force in rural Tibet; c) the improvement of the industry structure to increase the income of the farmers; d) the change of the way of thinking for supporting Tibet by enhancing the self-development of rural Tibet. The purpose of this research is to improve the living quality and productivity of local farmers and to push forward the supportive work for Tibet so as to narrow the gap between and the eastern and western areas and promote the effectiveness of supportive work for Tibet.
