The globalization of economy and the science and technology rapid growth make global economy increase with high speed, meanwhile this economy development put multinational company under circumstance with more risk and uncertainty. Since 1980s, as a new model of corporation collaboration, strategic alliance has become an effective way for multinational company to hence the international competence and exploit the international market, and also a necessary choice of the global development. Its upsurge is influencing and even changing the international competitive surroundings, the organizational structures and operation of corporations. After entry to WTO, Chinese corporations will join global surroundings from whole orientations and high levels. Strategic alliance of multinational company will also become a new access to the world for our corporations. The management experience of strategic alliance is beneficial for Chinese company to build the modern enterprise system and know the international competitor better to avoid the side effect.On the basis of introducing and appraising relevant reference, this paper introduces the definition, types, characters and present development status of strategic alliance, interprets the theoretical bases referring to theories of deal cost, value chain, resource base and core competence. The core of this paper emphasizes on below problems:(1) the considered factors on the decision-making of multinational company ;(2) the selection of the alliance partners and structure;(3) the control of risks on the alliance operation;(4) the evaluation of the alliance performance. Finally, This paper puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions on how to join the system of strategic alliance of the multinational company and make up our globalization network.
