Research On WTO And The Problem Of Agricultural Subsidies

The entry to the WTO, a great event in the historical process of reform and opening up to the outside world will have a far—reaching influence on the rural economic development of our country .It is the urgent need of complying with economic development of the world, the inevitable choice of developing socialist market economy as well to join WTO. Looking into the rules of WTO, china's joining in WTO will bring serious challenges to agriculture. It is necessary to take measures to enhance the completive abilities of our produce according to WTO rules. As the most important policy, the reform of subsides policy draws many attentions.Based on the analysis to the fact of agriculture subsides practiced in China, this thesis has discussed the necessity of establishing a new system agriculture subsides. In the thesis the author planned out some policy goals involving increasing fanner's income and protecting environment ,according to the successful practice of foreign country and the fact of China, and the system should be in which direct subsideswould be main.
