In today's era of knowledge-driven economy, the competition foundation for the enterprise strategic resource has already changed from material resource competition to human resource competition, the scientific development and utilization of human resource has been the key method to achieve competitiveness advantages. Performance assessment is an important component in the human resources management; it has become the strategic action for enterprises to foster competitive advantages and gain core competitiveness. However, it has been always difficult to build up a set of performance assessment system and make it suitable for the companies whether in the foreign countries or in our country, it is the top priority task of many enterprises' human resources development and management to build up and perfect the performance with rational science and appraisal the system. Therefore, the paper designed the performance assessment for the sale management staff of the China Life Insurance Co. Ltd. Jinan Branch Company comprehensively.On the basis of in-depth discussion on performance assessment theory, the paper has analyzed the current situation of performance assessment of the sale management staff of the China Life Insurance Co. Ltd. Jinan Branch Company and pointed out the extant problems. Having taken the company overall goal as the instructive direction and the post responsibility as the foundation, having adopted the Key Performance Indicator (KPI), the author has designed and advanced the performance assessment project of the post key performance indicator for the sale management staff. In this project, the author has given more detailed expositions on the selection of performance assessment indicators of the sale management staff, the weight distribution, the creation of assessment criteria, the implementation of the program and the design of performance contract, then proposed implementary suggestion of the performance assessment program, which aims to solving the problems, such as the weight setting of indicators' lack of scientific basis and the insufficiency of performance result feedback and instruction, so as to enhance the level of human resources management of the China Life Insurance Co. Ltd. Jinan Branch Company.
