The Effects Of Export Trading In China Because Of Green Barrier And The Study Of The Countermeasures For It

Since 1950's, by GATT and WTO's hard working for many years, the member states have adjusted their tariff rates to a very low level , at the same time abolished many non-tariff measures. However, trade protectionism can never be eliminated from the common people's economic life. This thesis goes deep into the analyses and studies the birth and effect of the green barrier by using the basic economic theories and connecting with practice. After that, the thesis also gives a thorough analysis of the green barriers, which China is facing. The main body of the paper can be divided into 3 parts.The first part includes the No.2 and No.3 Chapter.In Chapter 2,at first, the thesis gives a clear definition of green barriers and provides a system analyses for legislative authority and doctrinal interpretation of green barriers. Then, it takes a look at the Global market and makes a study for the present developing trend of green barriers. The trend can be discussed in four aspects. Firstly, green barriers have shown a visible effect on the global trade and cause more and more trade frictions among the countries. Secondly, the standards, which constitute green barriers, keep increasing and involve in wider and wider fields. Thirdly, the compulsive technical standards are taking more shares in the green barriers. Lastly, from one country to many countries green barriers have caused chain reaction already.In Chapter 3, after taking a view from the national economy and politics, the thesis gives a theoretical study for the promotion and influence of the green barriers. There are two reasons for causing the green barriers. One is the badly worry about worse environment. The other is that trade frictions make people believe that green barrier is necessary. Then, the thesis gives us a further analysis for the green barrier's forming by taking advantage of theoretical model. It shows the green barrier is resulted from the game between different group of the same interest. However, green barriers will bring a series of negative influence to the export country, for example, a sharp decrease in quantity for exporting and worse trade environment. In the end, both of them will make the welfare level of the export country be lower.China is the biggest developing country. So, it's very important to analyse the influence by green barriers to the China. In the second part, which is in the chapter four, at first, the thesis assesses an evaluation for green barrier in China in which was faced within the last few years. Then, it also analyses the influence imposed to the export in China by green barriers. The thesis gives us an answer, that is, China is speeding up its industrialization, which decides that she should be in the passive position in front of the green barriers. On side,Green barriers restrict the developing of Chinese export trade, increase the cost for exporting, shrink the global market and make company face with bigger risk. But on the other side, green barriers will provide some opportunities for China to adjust her industry structure and develop some green products.
