With the operation of the GATT and WTO, tariff barriers are continually cut down, and non-tariff barriers are limited more and more rigidly. But developed countries traditional has developed measures of non-tariff barriers to protect their trade, and new green trade barrier is the most prevalent type at present. Green trade barrier has produced much pressure on and challenged our country's export business. Statistics suggest that, in 1999 the value of our country's export goods that was subject to the green trade barrier regulations amounted to 115 hundred million, and in 2005 it climbed to 435 hundred million. therefore the thesis proposes that it is imperative that we make a close study of the green trade barrier ,and pay due attention to its inpact on the export of our country.The thesis summarises the causes of green trade barrier, puts forward a definition of green trade barrier and briefly analyzs its characteristics. It analyzes the positive influences and negative effects of green barrier on macro-level. Focusing on the welfare effects and its influence on international competition ability, the last part concentrates mainly on the countermeasures against the Green Trade Barriers from the view of government and enterprises respectively.
