The dissertation is mainly about some tough questions existed in the energy structure and energy consumption patterns in towns of Shanghai, and makes related analysis and research. The contents compose of three major sections. Section one is about investigation and analysis of current energy consumption situation in towns; section two is the energy demand forecast of rural households; the third section is the analysis and choices of energy supply schemes.In order to understand the current situation of energy supply structure and the residential energy consumption in suburb towns, the questionnaire investigation was conducted in three typical towns such as The Jinze Town in Qingpu District in Shanghai. The investigation involves residential energy consumption, such as cooking, hot water, cooling, lighting, and household appliances. Hence, energy demand forecast and energy supply analyses are put forward according to the survey.The energy consumption level in rural areas will certainly increase continuously with the promotion of economic development. The main characteristics of household energy consumption in Chinese well-off areas are represented by the rapid demand of high class commercial energy such as power and LPG. By the end of 2004, comprehensive well-off realization rate rise to 87.8% in rural areas in Shanghai. The proportion of household energy demand in the total energy demand of Shanghai will increase day by day, and the energy demand forecast will be increasingly important.It is necessary to appraise and analyze social economic benefits of various kinds of technological schemes if the energy project serves social work effectively. This dissertation develops an index model which is used to assess the energy supply schemes after the evaluation of different energy supply pattern. Analyze the economic cost and environmental cost of rural feasible energy supply schemes, especially the elaborate contrast and analysis of rural power supply schemes. Finally, based on the rural ecological resources, this dissertation proposes proper energy supply schemes for different rural development pattern.
