The development and utilization of coastal tidal mudflat has a long history, but the conventional mode of that is mostly the mode of "tideland enclosure for cultivation "which lacks diversity and is of low level. With the development of economy, the development and utilization of tidal mudflat resources becomes more and more important and has been acting as an increasing pole for the animation of the regional economy of the costal area, so the research on the sustainable development and utilization of tidal mudflat will has much practical significant meaning.Jiangsu Yancheng, situated in north of Jiangsu, has a significant feature in costal tidal mudflat advantage. "Animating the local economy by magnifying the advantage of costal tidal mudflat" has all along been a significant strategy of Yancheng and years of experience makes us know that it is the most practical alternative to fully take advantage of the resources of coastal tidal mudflat and fully magnify the costal advantage.The aim of this article is to analyze the current situation and history of the development and utilization of costal tidal mudflat,to study the successful experience of home and abroad, to sort out the problems and obstacles that still remains, together with the practical situation of Yancheng thus bringing out the measures to promote the development of Yancheng costal tidal mudflat.This article analyzes the development and utilization of the coastal tidal mudflat resources of Yancheng and gets into the relative theories, aims to explore the effective measures for the development and utilization of tidal mudflat, meanwhile provides a thought or reference on the research of development and utilization of coastal tidal mudflat.
