The Research On Industrial Tourism And Its Development

As a new kind of tourism, industrial tourism picks up the factory and enterprise related sources as exploring materials, combines industry with tourism tightly, makes operations based on the market. It is also a new cross industry and a new field for the development of tourism. Except for pastime and sightseeing, industrial tourism has many different kinds of active functions, such as amusement, meeting tourists' thirst for knowledge and curious mentality, setting up a good corporation image, increasing the economic benefit of enterprises, creating new economic growth point, providing extra job opportunities, revitalization of the old and recessive industrial bases. Therefore a lot of countries and areas are developing industrial tourism projects in great passion. Meanwhile, many states are engaged in the theoretical study and practical exploration of industrial heritage tourism and factory sightseeing tourism.This paper systemically summarized and reviewed the development and research on industrial tourism. It indicated that there are many deficiencies in our research and exploration on industrial tourism, such as lack of deepness and extent, singleness of research method and the shortage in the theoretical research. Hereby, basing on the combination of planning theories and the practical work, we analyzed domestic industrial tourism and the systemic development research in industrial tourism area.First of all, efforts were made to construct the theoretical foundation of industry tourism development and it was pointed out that four theories, i.e. the District Theory, the System Theory, the Product Lifecycle Theory and the Landscape Ecology Theory, should be considered as the theoretical principles of the exploration on industrial tourism. Second, taking the representative cases inside and outside of China into consideration, the two main types of industrial tourism, industrial heritage tourism and factory sightseeing tourism, were analyzed and discussed. Third, the time and space arrangement of domestic sample spots in industrial tourism were studied qualitatively and quantitatively, and the exploration on Xi-an KaiMi company's industrial tourism was probed into by using questionnaire survey and local inspection. At last, with the exploration of Danzhuling Scenic Area as a case, a new mode of integrated tourism exploration basing on industrial tourism was put forward.
