The issue about urban and rural relationwhich has been heatedly discussed in the regional economy resarch due to the discussionand research of development in urban and rural area recently. It is quite necessary for usto study the development of marginal district that is the most suitable space area andbreakthrough point for balacing urban and rural development.This thesis specializes in shaping and developping of rural-urban fringe district inFuZhou city are listed as fellows:Chapter one is the introduction which mainly elaborate the basis and meaning of thetopic,the current research situation in domestic and overseas,purpose and the problems tosolve,research and basic stucture of this article. Chapter two,to discuss meaning,characteristic,type,formation mechanism, scope defining rural-urban fringe district, etc.,tofind out city theoretic basic of geography and economy.Chapter three,to define the spacial scope anddemonstrate formation and changing process of rural-urban fringe district in FuZhoucity, to summarice present development situation and analyze basic social economiccharacteristic in details with vivid examples.On the basic of above analysis,guiding ideasand basic principles about development of rural-urban fringe district in FuZhoucity, general purpose and requied discussed problems within five years have been raisedin chapter four. Chapter five,to analyze,the best developed mode in rural-urban fringedistrict in FuZhou,and to put forward to the specified policies to increase economy inFuZhou city.
