Study On Order-oriented Complex Product Configuration Management Based On Case

Along with individuation current of market requirement, order-oriented companies, which responding to the market rapidly, adapt to the competition and are developing speedily. But order-oriented complex product manufactory has particularity in product configuration design because of its own specialty. Firstly, product structure is complex and the amount of parts is very large. Besides, there is too much sharing, borrowing or alternative relation between products. So the product data in company is in disorder under manual management model. Secondly, Product design in the company mainly roots in clients'order and the product is often produced singly. It not only requests engineer complete the product configuration accord with the requirement of the order, but also needs the assurance of product quality in one-off production. Therefore, most ordered product in the company is remodeled depending on old products. It requests finding the right product platform exactly to remodel configuration, and deriving the new product BOM based on the design experience in the past. It depends on the mature products and experience knowledge to the full extent.Aiming at a series of traits and problem of order-oriented complex product manufactory, this paper puts forward a method of product configuration based on instance. It makes the product data in the company more regularly and builds company's product instance depot by changeable product structure. The rules and restriction relationship between the products and parts make of the knowledge depot. Using PDM system as a soft platform, it realizes ordered product searching based on case and product configuration based on rules under the sustaining of CBR and decision-making table technology. Thereby, it makes good reuse of the mature product resource and experience knowledge, and reduces the repeat design work and engineer cost,and improves the efficiency and quality of product configuration. It can bring pressing benefit for the company.Finally, the author anticipated the development study of PDM soft and the application project of PDM system in Chongqing Gear Box Company. The theory and method of product configuration based on case come true in the software, and be applied practically in the company.
