Study On Chinese Industrial Competitiveness And Its Key Factors

Since 90s'of 20 century, as global economic integration develops rapidly , competition among countries appears as competition in economic field . Chinese industrial competitiveness level is still far lower than that of the developed countries. How to promote industrial competitiveness is the main problems that the government and the enterprisers confront . Study on industrial competitiveness exist not a long time, so the common theories and evaluating system have not constitute . It is pretty meaningful to find out what are the main factors influencing industrial competitiveness and to improve industrial competitiveness evaluating system on the above basis. It is under the above background that the author tries to analyze and evaluate the competitiveness level.This paper analytic clue is that : Firstly, though utilizing"Diamond Theory"of Porter. M. E and international competitiveness equation theory , the author choose industrial organization structure ,technique innovations and invested capital as key factors to constitute measuring econometric model . After gathering the Chinese panel data of 1994 and 2003, and examinating these indexes, the author get general evaluating index system .Secondly ,through removing units of evaluation indexes ,this paper order 17 industries and analyze Chinese industrial competitiveness .On the base of the above analysis ,the results show that :①There are three factors which play the critical function to industrial competitiveness :industrial organization structure , technique innovations and resources ,which have positive impact on industrial competitiveness .②Comprehended evaluating indexes conclude profit rate ,industrial concentrating degree and capital–output per cent .③Chinese industrial competitiveness has the following characteristics : First, the traditional capital concentrated industries have competitiveness advantages .Second ,competition advantages tend to gather in heavy industry . Third, traditional industry competitiveness level has decreased. Forth, technique concentrated and newly emerged industry is weak ,which potential competitiveness has to reinforced. Finally , the author offer some corresponding measures and politics .
