Research On Choosing Regional Leading Industry Based On Grey System Theory

This article utilizes the basic principle of regional economics, the industrial economics, thenational economics and the grey system theory. The author takes choosing of regional leadingindustry as the research content, in the foundation of the already achievements, unifies actualsituation of the local economy development, and has conducted the research taking GuangdongProvince as the example.The regional leading industry are industrial groups which work as impetus in the regionaleconomy development. The decision of regional leading industry is correct or not, not onlyrelates the development of leading industry itself, but also decides the economy development andthe industrial structure rationalization in this region. Thus the analysis and research on regionalleading industry are key points.Firstly, this article reviews domestic and foreign research achievements in leading industry,combining my understanding, has educed the definition of regional leading industry, and hasanalyzed its characteristic and its function in the local economy development. Secondly, thisarticle carries on summary of methods in choosing regional leading industry, according to thesecriteria and principle, produces evaluation index system. Thirdly, using the superiority of greysystem theory in dealing with uncertain questions, this article uses grey cluster to cluster theindustrial departments, uses grey clusering decision to arrange the identical category, and selectsthe regional leading industry in quantitative analysis method. This is the innovation in thisarticle. Finally, uniting qualitative analysis method, this article carries on real diagnosis analysisto the Guangdong Province, has determined the leading industry that are electronic informationindustry, petroleum processing and coking and nuclear fuel processing industry, transportationequipment manufacturing industry, chemical industry, electrical and machinery and equipmentmanufacturing industry, rent with the commercial service industry, transportation and storageindustry, financial insurance industry, and has produced suggestions.
