Research On The Container Transportation Development Of Nanjing Port

As an advanced mode of sundry goods transportation, container shipping has caused an important revolution in the field of transportation. The invention and employment of container shipping has greatly improved quality of the container transportation, decreasing links of the container transportation and its transportation time, reducing the freight transportation cost, and forcefully promoting the development of trade and economy. With the development of china's economy and external trade and the construction of Shanghai International Shipping Center, ports---in the area of Changjiang Delta---have good chance they never had to develop container shipping. Nanjing Port is one of the most important one in the north Delta and the biggest inlandport in China. So it has the admirable advantage of region to develop the container shipping. The development of container shipping in Nanjing Port is not only necessary for developing of itself but also essential to promote the development of container shipping and economy of the whole Changjiang area.In this thesis, the actuality and development trend of container transportation which gives a background for the next chapters being expounded first, then in order to give a general picture of Nanjing port's container transportation ,the paper analyzing Nanjing port's current situation,expounding the phylogeny,actulity,developing environment,economic development of the direct hinterland and indirect ones and major problems of Nanjing port's container transportation. For container shipping demands is an important factor in making strategies for port's developing. The thesis forecasting the following years'demand trend of Nanjing port's container shipping by combinatorial forecast method in the fourth chapter. In the next chapter, competitive situation of Nanjing port's container transportation being analyzed first, then the competition power of container transportation between Nanjing port and other five ports being evaluating through AHP. Based on the former analyzing and take account of the actuality and development trend of Nanjing port's container transportation, the paper giving the strategic objective and focuses of Nanjing port's container transportation and putting forward several constructive suggestions which will contribute certain theoretical values as well as offer Practical significance to Nanjing port's container transportation.
