Study On The Symbiosis Between The Preservation And Tourism Development Of World Heritage Sites

With the development of tourism, world heritage sites are becoming popular in theworld. The upsurge of tourism not only builds up people's consciousness of heritagepreservation, but also attracts funds, technology and favorable environment for the worldheritages preservation, thus, it plays an important role for resurgence of cultural heritage.Correspondingly, contradictions between tourism development and preservation arebecoming increasingly obvious. It has become a common problem that lack of rationalmanagement imposes great pressure on the preservation of world heritage. Therefore, ithas been an important research subject with regard to many world heritage sites on how todeal with the relationship of preservation and development properly, and how to achievethe balance of the two.This thesis makes a comprehensive analysis of the current situation of heritagepreservation and tourism development by taking Wuyi Mountain, the world heritage as anexample and concluded that there is great correlation between the preservation of WuyiMountain and the development of tourism. However, with the further development oftourism, the contradiction between the preservation and development of Wuyi Mountainis becoming increasingly obvious. There are various reasons for this problem, but theauthor finds it is due to a lack of a proper mode for development, the symbiosis ofpreservation and development, in the course of world heritage development. This is thekey factor that results in the imbalance between preservation and development.This thesis makes a comprehensive analysis of the current operating mode ofsymbiosis between the preservation and development of Wuyi Mountain by applying theSymbiosis Theory and its relative principles, points out the necessity for the existence ofthe current symbiosis modes and their deficiencies as well, analyzes the symbiosiscondition and symbiosis mechanism for the preservation and development of WuyiMountain, and suggests the innovative mode for the preservation and development ofWuyi Mountain——the mode of symbiosis for mutual benefits and external supportingsystem. The author constructs such a complete system of preservation and tourismmanagement for the sake of improving the harmony between the preservation of world heritage and tourism development, promoting the management level of world heritagepreservation, and offering references for the similar world heritage preservation andtourism management.
