For a long time, structural unemployment is considered as a kind of special forms of frictional unemployment in economics, and natural phenomenon in readjustment of the economic structure. It showed local unemployment in some industries caused by the mismatch between industrial structure and labor supply structure. The most prominent manifestation is the coexistence of job vacancies and unemployment. Structural unemployment is defined as natural unemployment in the case of full employment by modern macroeconomics. It's out of regulatory targets of macroeconomic policy. With the rapid development of some developing countries, the adjustment of industry structure in these countries is very fast, and then many new industries are produced. But the Spontaneous regulation of labor market is very slow, so the structural unemployment is appearing. In our country's recent situation, technology-intensive industry and capital-intensive industry have turned into the dominant force of china's economy. But the labor-intensive industry is still the main advantage of international competition in our country because of cheap labor. Industrial characteristics leading to such a large number of low labor demand could not be met, and the large quantity of highly educated personnel redundancy. The coexistence of China's"labor shortage"and the unemployed college graduates in recent years reflects the characteristics and seriousness of the structural unemployment. China's structural unemployment problem is very grim, how to solve this issue is not only related to China's sustained economic development, but also related to the basic requirements of maintaining social stability and building a socialist harmonious society. Developed and developing countries have structural unemployment caused by different reasons. So the management methods will also differ. Therefore, we must critically examine the current status, characteristics and causes of structural unemployment, and then find the right way to control.This paper will summarize the main theory of structural unemployment, then analyses the status and causes of structural unemployment in our country, at the last give some policy recommendations. In the theoretical part, the paper will quote a large number of domestic and foreign literatures, in order to turn the principle of structural unemployment become more complete system. To analysis of status, I will combine methods of quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis. At the same time the paper will contrast the "two shortage" and the "two difficulty" to display our structural unemployment in a more intuitive way .In combination with our current primary stage of socialism I will analysis the causes. The article concludes with some shallow proposals to control the problem of structural unemployment in our country. Based on the structural unemployment problem in developing countries are unique, the thesis questioned full employment indicators of the macroeconomic policy, hope to solve the problem of structural unemployment for more attention and support policies.
