Research On The Environmental Barriers Of China's Agricultural Products Export

With continuously worsen of global environment and promoting of the ecological science research, the ethics and value sense of contemporary people is changing from"human being benefits"to"ecological benefits". With these changes, the world trade of agricultural products has entering the times of environmental protection. The environmental protectionists owe these environmental problems to the increasing of international trade, and the trade protectionists seize the opportunity to establish same kind of trade barriers to prevent other country's products getting into their countries and prevent trading liberalism. Now, the environmental barriers is the most effective ways of the NTBs. Due to the particularity of it's producing and close connection to the environment, agriculture as well as the international trade of agricultural products, are very important in most every country. all the developed countries and developing countries have adopted a series of measures to restrict other country's products. Therefore, the international trade of agricultural products suffers the most when confronting the environmental barriers. Since China adopted the reforming and opening-door policy, we have made fast grow in international trade of agricultural products. But with the incorrect ideas of environment and incomplete environmental barrier system, our products suffering a lot in the trading process.This paper reviewed the general conditions of the trade of agricultural products since 1998. Cited a case study of Jiangsu province to show the great influence on the agricultural products exports of our country. Compared with the environmental barrier system of main developed countries, our country's own system is incomplete, including many problems in different aspects. Based on the above analysis, this paper bring forward two policies to solve the problem. The first one is to establish our own environmental barrier system joint to the international criterion; the second one is change the production method of agricultural products, developing organic food and organic agriculture to improve the quality of our export products.
