The Application Of GIS In Farmland Grading

Quality level of cropland classification is an important means for the Ministry of Land and Resources in carrying out scientifically quantifying the quality and distribution of cropland, and compensating farmers for their other used cropland, consequently realizing the balance of region cropland other used with its compensation. It also can offer decision gist for estimating fertility of cropland. The above project has quite significance for protecting farmer's benefits and constructing harmonious society.Quality level of cropland classification relates to amount of spatial data and attribute information. The GIS can effectively unite spatial data and their attribute information which has powerful analysis function such as topology, overlay and buffer etc. Since GIS can be used to obtain, deal with, analysis and output spatial information, it can establish foundation for quickly cropland quality classification in region of county.In this paper, the author choose Pulandian city as study area which is one of experimental region of cropland quality classification. The author has systemic studied the units partition, units'attribute and graph calculating, and sorts statistic in GIS. In the same time these works provide foundation and technique for application of cropland quality classification.The basic data of cropland land quality classification in Liaoning province is the land using data which has a scale of 1:10000. All the spatial data are Mapinfo format, so the author choose Mapinfo as GIS platform, and emphasize the results can be used to synthetically estimating land value in region which carrying out land programming, not to develop a system. The aim of this study is to rapidly complete cropland quality classification and make map and attribute database meeting national needs., and explore a new effective and easy operated method.Following is the main content of this study:1. thoroughly studied the crop land quality classification technique, work processing and work purpose.2. Considering the practical demand, solve data processing, calculation and analysis of spatial data and attribute information using GIS at different stage about cropland quality classification.
