Research Of Urban Tourism Competitiveness In Xi'an

With China's sustained and steady economic growth and the continuous improvement of people's living standards, tourism has gradually become an important part of life as a leisure mode. Economic strength, the environment improved significantly, the constant improvement in equipment and facilities make the city not only as a source of tourist, but also become a comprehensive object of tourist set, reception, distribution center for tourists.From the share of tourism in total economy, urban tourism has become the mainstay of contemporary tourism. Competition is the inevitable product of the market economy. Whether western countries which have already entered the market economy, or China which gradually establish a market economy, faced with more and more competitions from all levels. Despite it is not a long time from the study of the competitiveness theory has began, the development momentum is rapid, there are country competitiveness, industrial competitiveness, the competitiveness of enterprises, urban competitiveness, and so on. Urban tourism competitiveness is becoming the hot point at domestic and abroad. Xi'an has rich tourism resources and tourism develops early. So enhance its competitiveness in urban tourism is of great significance when cities in dealing with the fierce competition in tourism and economic development.This article summarized on the competitiveness of cities and some basic theories on the current development of tourism, and defined the meaning of the city tourism competitiveness on this basis. Study on the city tourism competitiveness of the impact of factors, structure, stage of development, theoretical model and a mechanism for the formation. In this paper, I construct an evaluation system of the urban tourism which is made of 7 factors and 25 indicators in the relevant statistical information, on the basis of research results that have been made by predecessors and WTTC competitiveness indicator published by the World Travel and Tourism Committee. Of course I use economics and tourism-related theory to create this evaluation index system. I use statistical data to compare the urban tourism competitiveness between Xi'an and 13 cities such as Beijing, Wuhan and Hangzhou. I proposed some measures to upgrade tourism competitiveness of Xi'an at the end of papers.
