Research On Efficiency Evaluation Of Chinese Investment In Science And Technology

Science and technology is getting more important for social and economic development . It has changed people's lives and the world outlook. Both developed and emerging countries and developing countries, regard investment in science and technology as a strategic investment. They increase the investment in science and technology greatly, and develop advanced technologies and strategic industries, to seize the commanding height. Whether investment in science and technology can increase the overall knowledge society, can raise the technological level of society as a whole, can require the competitive edge, can promote economic growth, it all depends on how the efficiency of investment in science and technology.This paper based on the actual need, analyses the relative efficiency of China's scientific and technological input using DEA method. The result shows that the relative efficiency of investment in science and technology has a trend of volatility and the technology output has a greater impact on the level of efficiency. The result also shows that the relative efficiency of China's investment in science and technology has large differences between areas, and the level of efficiency of coastal areas is much higher than the central and western areas.According to the empirical analysis, the conclusion of this paper gives some policy recommendations in improving the investment structure and the using efficiency of science and technology human resources.
