Study On China-Iran Industrial Cooperation

In the report of 17th National Congress of the CPC,Hu Jintao pointed out that "solid steps were taken in implementing the "go global" strategy and the open economy entered a new stage of development" in our country.During the Eleventh Five-Year Plan period,"we will continue to follow the foreign policy of friendship and partnership,strengthen good-neighbody relations and practical cooperation with our neighboring countries,increase solidarity and cooperation with developing countries."(Hu Jintao,hold high the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics,striving to construct completely Well-off Society, The Report of 17th National Congress of the CPC)Therefore,boosting the industrial cooperation between China and it's peripheral neigboring country—Iran,reinforcing the relationship between China and Iran including the cooperation in the field of energy sources are strategic measures rising China to be a world power in the new era.Following this tenet,relying on the long-term achievement of researches and data collections on the Middle East(especially on Iran)by the Graduate School of Western Asia and integrating with the developing of the National Social Science Fund Project "Researches on the relationship between China and Iran in the new era",this article mainly study the theories and practice of the industrial cooperation between China and Iran which is hoped to be helpful to boost the industrial cooperation between China and Iran to a new stage.Basing on the further understanding of industrial cooperation between the two countries and the conditions of developing industrial cooperation between China and Iran,This article mainly discussed the current situation of the industrial cooperation between China and Iran, concluded the achievements,problems and their causations of the industrial cooperation between China and Iran,analyzed the common form of the industrial cooperation between the two countries,adopted case studies to explore direct investments to Iran on the field of oil, gas,electricity and weaving by China.Pilot studies mere also made to study on the automobile industry investment in China by Iran and the status of skill transfer from Iran to China.At the end of the article,the author put foward several reflections and suggestions on boosting a further industrial cooperation between China and Iran.The articte is convinced that there is an obvious achievement in the industrial cooperation between China ann Iran.They have gained a larger scale and increasing means in the cooperation;the environmental condition and policies are as well improved greatly;the trade volume of industrial wares is climbing continuously.Take the field as oil,steel, electricity,weaving,car manufacture,cement industry for example,China has gained a fruitful cooperation through the establishment of factories,purchasing the right of resources exploitation,jobing and constructing of projects,skills transfer,mutual joint ventures base on shares etc.Almost all the corporations investing to Iran are government-owned,which possesses advantages in techniques,funds and talented persons for the requirement of Iranian economic growth and people's daily life.Meanwhile,the number of private corporations is growing stably over the recent years.On the other hand,the investments by Iran are mainly in the items of oil refining,on which China has technology advantages.The higher grade of cooperation can be enhanced in the future through the means of positive government negotiations,signature of industrial cooperation contracts,information service and establishment of free trade zones.The problems in the cooperation is also pointed out that Chinese capital corporations may face to some barriers related with natural environment,worth,law,language,and negotiation.The features of research is the combination of macroscopic research and microscopic research on the results and questions of cooperation between both countries.The consideration and suggestions are also pointed out on the leading fields of cooperation,in order to link basic research to the practicability for the improvement of learning features.This thesis lacks discussions of industrial cooperation between the two countries aside from leading industries as oil,steel and electricity etc due to insufficient materials.In addition,research on the field of investment is not convincing enough as well.This article can be divided into six parts:The first part is introd,uction including the reasons and purpose about topic choosing, documents summarize,research synopsis plus key problems to be solved.The second part demonstrates the meaning of industrial cooperation between the two countries.The third part shows the conditions and characters as well as status quo of Iranian industrial development which is described through oil,gas,steel,electricity,weaving,car manufacture,cement industry etc.The forth part illustrates the approaches and means of the two countries' industrial cooperation.The fifth part makes a research on the cases of industrial investment.The final part contains the author's reflections and suggestions based on the discussions above.
