Statistic Analysis Of The First Author's Of Articles In Chinese Key Journals In Management Science

Since 1979, Chinese Management Science has been developing for nearly 30 years, which shows a new subject's characteristics with rapid growth of literature's quantity. Chinese Management Science has developed from scratch, but gradually becomes prosperous. Research team are from weak to strong, and have become increasingly widespread distribution. In the results evaluation, particularly on the foundational research results, the paper quantity and quality are important Indicators. Scientific results and Author analysis are the effective ways to understand research teams' distribution of a certain subject field.Compared with the traditional qualitative analysis, this paper takes 20 Management Science's key journals selected by Management Science Department of National Natural Science Fund Committee as data sources, such as "Systems Engineering-theory & Practice"," Journals of Quantitative & Technical Economics", "Journals of Systems Engineering", "Journals of Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management", "Studies in Science of Science". According to the way of articles statistic analysis, the statistical analysis is carried out, included institution and region distribution of 32 866 theses and their 17 962 first authors. The result shows that Chinese Management Science research teams has an obvious imbalance situation in institution and region distribution, and the researchers are mostly concentrated in developed cities and provinces, such as Shanghai, Beijing, Zhejiang Province, while institution distribution is focused on universities and colleges.Using Lotka's law and Price's law to calculate, there are 752 high-yielding authors and 172 high-yielding units in 20 Management Science's key journals. From the specific analysis of the top 21 authors, the high - yielding authors shows the same distribution situation as the whole Chinese Management Science research teams' in institution and region distribution. The research teams have the aging trend, and research hot points tend to technical innovation, enterprise management, organization and strategic management. According to the situation and characteristics of Chinese Management Science research teams, in the region distribution, we should keep superiority regions with rapid development, and strengthen less developed regions' support. In the future, talent training of Management Science should be strengthened by the financial help for the young and middle-aged scholars.
