A Study On Influnceing Factors Of Enterprises' Knowledge Absorption In Transnational Technology Alliance

At present, the Transnational Technology Alliance has become one of the most important form for enterprises to absorb knowledge. More and more enterprises of China have set up Technology Alliances with enterprises that own advanced technology. In order to gain advanced knowledge and technology, overseas enterprises were allowed to enter into Chinese market using knowledge and technology as exchange, but the strategy isn't effective. Chinese enterprises lost market but failed to gain advanced technology from overseas enterprises. It is exigent for us to study on the factors that influence the effectiveness of knowledge absorption. Besides, the current academic study on knowledge absorption in Transnational Technology Alliance is still limited. Therefore, this study has significance theoretical and practical value.The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that influence knowledge absorption for Chinese enterprises in Transnational Technology Alliance by theoretical analysis and empirical study methods, study on the influencing factors about it's influencing degree and influencing relationship to the effectiveness of knowledge absorption. This study will be an important theoretical reference for Chinese enterprises to absorb knowledge form overseas enterprises in Transnational Technology Alliance.This study chose the absorption enterprises in transnational technology alliance as the angle of view. Firstly, this study studied on a large number of related theories and research at home and abroad. On the bases of theoretical analysis, the study decided seven factors that influence enterprises' knowledge absorption in transnational technology alliance from two aspects and then put forward hypothesis from the theoretical and logical perspective. Then, the study did empirical research through interviews and questionnaires. After reliability and validity analysis and exploratory factor analysis, the study tested the correlation between variables to verify the hypothesis through path analysis and structural equation model. Data analysis showed that the significant linear relationships between factors (except for knowledge diversity) and the effect of knowledge absorption were confirmed. The relationship between relationship trust and the motivation to knowledge absorption effect are of high degree. The extent of communication and the input that invested in knowledge absorption are of middle degree. While the intrinsic knowledge of enterprise and its' organization culture are of general degree. Data analysis in structural equation model shows that correlation between knowledge diversity and the effect of knowledge absorption is existed but not significant. The study used dot figures to describe the nonlinear relationship of knowledge diversity and the effect of knowledge. When the knowledge diversities between the enterprises in transnational technology alliance are moderate, the effect of knowledge absorption is the best. The conclusion of this study will provide valuable references for knowledge absorption in transnational technology alliances.
