Research On The Influence Of Supplier Involvement In New Product Development On Manufacture's Technology Innovation Capability

With the fast development of both science&technology and supply chain management, supplier involvement in new product development (SINPD) has become an efficient way to improve the efficient or effectivity of new product development. However, efficient or effectivity of new product development depends on manfacture's improvement on technology innovation capability. Therefore, how to improve manufacture's technology innovation capability is becoming more and more important.In order to discuss the influence of supplier involvement in new product development on manufacture's technology innovation capability, the main factors which has important impact on manufacture's learning during SINPD was divided into four aspects including supplier's capability, the relationship quality between manufacture and supplier, SINPD and manufacture's learning. The concept model was builded based on the analysis of the relationship between these factors and manufacture's technology innovation capability, the research hypothesis was also been put forward. The result of this research shows that: (1) supplier's technology capability, trustworthiness of both manufacture and supplier, the cooperation expierence between manufacture and supplier and the dependence degree of manufacture on supplier have positive effect on supplier's involvement time and involvement degree. (2) Supplier's cooperation capability, trustworthiness of manufacture and supplier, the cooperation expierence between manufacture and supplier have positive effect on information communication quality between the manufacture and the supplier, supplier's technology capability has no influence on information communication quality,but the dependence degree of manufacture on supplier has negative effect influence on information communication quality.(3) supplier's technology capability, supplier's cooperation capability, trustworthiness of both manufacture and supplier, the cooperation expierence between manufacture,supplier involvement time and the information communication quality between the manufacture and the supplier all have positive effect on manufacture's thechnology innovation capability, supplier involvement degree has no influence on manufacture's thechnology innovation capability, but the dependence degree of manufacture on supplier has negative effect on manufacture's thechnology innovation capability. The manufacture's learning also have positive effect on manufacture's thechnology innovation capability.Therefore, in order to improve technology innovation capability through SINPD, the manufactures should do as follows:①try to choose suppliers with strong technology and cooperation capability and make them involve in new product development.②let the supplier involve in new product development as early as possible.③try to improve information communication quality with supplier during the process of new product development.④try to build long-time cooperation relationship with suppliers,⑤try to reduce the dependence degree on supplier involved in new product development.⑥try to improve both learning capability and learning willness of employees.
