Since 1970s,especially since 1990s,city tourism marketing has been concerned and studied greatly. City tourism marketing is a deeper understanding of the rule of marketing activity. It requires the city body should scan the tourist's demand from a new point of view, and a new manner to shape the city core ability of competition. City has play a more and more important part in the development of tourism of nation and region,and becomes the most important tourism destination. For a long time, the city in our country do the tourism destination job always stop at the promotion. With the persisting development of tourism industry, externally, it requires the tourism destination should select the suitable marketing manner, to do the tourism marketing better.This thesis base on the analysis of the actuality of Urumqi's tourism, taking incisive point of all kinds of tourism marketing resource constituent of Urumqi .Through the basic theory of tourism marketing,management theory,statictics,and considering the personality of Urumqi's tourism,I put forward the suggestion:take the image marketing and MICE tourism as the most two important tasks of the city tourism marketing of Urumqi. On the part of image marketing location,through the tourism image questionnaire statistical result, we had learned that the Urumqi vivid cognition ways, the different region's tourists to the Urumqi overall image's cognition, different tourists team Urumqi must tour the landscape essential factor the cognition. At last, locate the Urumqi tourism image to unique and beautiful scene in the western, all kinds of customs in western regions. At last, I designed second level thoughts image design: the city of the geographic center of Asia,the city of Islamic food,the city of songs and dance of western nations. On the part of MICE tourism, I suggest that the government should display fully to orient the development of the MICE tourism, and the MICE tourism business should also strengthen the self building.
