Exhibition industry provides morevisitors to tourism industry. At the meantime, tourism increases the attraction toexhibitors. Due to this double win relationship, more and more researcher focuson the study of exhibition tourism. Especially on the point of adjustment of thetourism hot and pale season; increase the tourism income; fixing the bottleneckeffect of tourism.First of all, with literature analysis, this paper makes a conclusion ofexhibition tourism: exhibition tourism is a product that treats exhibition eventsas attractive objects and provides relevant tourist services that aims at makes theexhibition works successfully, it main way is by event tourism and conventiontourism.Secondly, by use of PEST analyze method, this paper make research ofUrumqi’s political; economy; nature and society; technology behind the Silk Roadeconomy belt. It comes into a conclusion that Urumqi as an importantinternational city on the Silk Road economy belt; it has high develop priority;good industry support; good economy concentration rate; leading culture andhigh social focus rate. Urumqi has advantage of develop exhibition tourism.Thirdly, with comparative analysis and AHP method. This paper can get ananswer: Urumqi exhibition tourism have advantage and high develop potentialon the Silk Road economy belt. With the method of IPA analyze that Urumqiexhibition tourism have problems on the loss of government duty; lack oftourism theme; low marketing promotion; low standard of base facility; lack ofservice.Finally, this paper makes targeted developing strategy which aims at develop Urumqi’s exhibition tourism competitive forces on the Silk Roadeconomy belt.
