Study On The Intensive Utilization Of Urban Land In Hohhot

Land is the base of urban economic and social development, different using level will bring different economic, social and ecological effect. At present, with the acceleration of urbanization process and the rapid expansion of urban land, the contradiction between supply and demand of urban land is intensifying day by day. The Intensive Use and the Optimum Location (IUOL) of urban land is the core of urban land use problem.This paper takes the related theories of domestic and abroad for reference to reach the aim how to enhance the intensive utilization level of urban land and achieve the sustainable use of urban land, which is significant to the urban economic development. From the connotation and the characteristic of the urban land, the urban land intensive utilization is defined in this paper. Through the analysis of the factors influencing the intensive utilization of urban land, this paper puts forward the principle and content of the intensive utilization of urban land, and sets up the index system. Combing with the data of some cities in China, the status of urban land using in Hohhot is analyzed by using theoretical and empirical methods and the contrastive analysis is made on urban land utilization intensive degrees in the similar cities. Finally, the policy suggestions are put forward in view of results of the empirical analysis in Huhhot.
