Research On Promoting The Competitiveness Of The Coal Resource-based City In Shanxi

The 21th century is the century of city.Nowadays cities have more and more important status and role in the economy of one country or world.Accordingly cities have become the dominant power in the economy development.The New Economy and globalization make the competition between the cities greatly severe and extensive.To cope with the opportunities,challenges and competition what the globalization bring,all cities have begun promoting the city's competitive power. Resource-based cities are special on their development.In the past fifty years,quite a few resource-based cities contributed to national economy and security.But the cost is large,resource drying up,environment breaking up,competitive power weakening, improper industry structure and serious social problems.Shanxi province gathered so many coal resource-based cities,there the problems on resource-based cities are representative.So it is necessary for us to analyze the Shanxi's actuality and find out some strategies to promote the resource-based city's competitive power.And it is meaningful to achieve a continuable development of resource-based cities.This paper used qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis,based on the study on the correlative theory of resource-based city and city's competitive power.After analyzed Shanxi's actuality,and used existing index system on evaluating city's competitive power for reference,the paper give out a pertinence index system and the theoretical mode to promote resource-based cities' competitive power in Shanxi province.According to the index system we used the Factor Analysis,and make a demonstration analvsis on five resource-based cities in Shanxi province.Finally we got the sequence of those five cities' competitive power and gave out the strategies to promote the resource-based cities' competitive power.
