Since "innovation" was put forward by Schumpeter, theoretical researches and practices on independent innovation has been making new progresses in domestic and abroad.On the basis of studying basic theories about independent innovation, the paper analyzed the definition peculiarity and type of independent innovation, and then did further researches on independent innovation from the theoretical and practical angles.Seen from the theoretical angle, the mode mechanism and system of independent innovation are very important regulative issues during the innovation process. Therefore, the paper analyzed three modes and mechanisms of it, and also analyzed its system furtherly.
