Study On The Timing Of Lanzhou City Leapfrog Development From The Space Perspective

Lanzhou City is a typical valley-basin city, on the one hand, large demand of land for urban construction because of the rapid urbanization, on the other hand, valley cities facing topographical restriction. Therefore Lanzhou City must choose leapfrog development and achieve the sustainable development. It is necessary to accurately grasp the timing of Lanzhou City leapfrog development. In the paper, study the timing of Lanzhou City leapfrog development from the space perspective, on the basis of taking full advantage of the pace of urban development and growth space by combining quantitative method and qualitative method, for reference of Lanzhou City Planning and the other Valley-Cities leapfrog development.This article includes two parts of theoretical study and empirical study. Theoretical study includes the discrimination of related concepts, theoretical development of urban leapfrog development and the theoretical thinking of the timing of Lanzhou City leapfrog development (including the implementation conditions, leapfrog time, leapfrog distance). Empirical Study includes taking Lanzhou City as a typical example of Valley-cities. From the city's macro-development view, determine the timing of Lanzhou City leapfrog development through the forecast of urban development scale, using two representative indicators: the scale of population and the scale of land for urban construction; at the same time from the micro perspective, determine the timing of Lanzhou City leapfrog development through the forecast of urban internal spaces of functions, using two representative indicators: the scale of industrial land and the scale of housing land; at last analysis other impact factors, including policy and so on.According to the final findings, the timing of Lanzhou City leapfrog development is in 2015-2020 period; from the forecast of industrial scale, the timing of Lanzhou City leapfrog development is in 2010-2015 period, the industrial space need leap in advance, which is the same as other cities successfully carried out leapfrog development. We can choose two programmes: Yuzhong County and the region of South and North Hill levelled.
