Study On Enhancing SME's Independent Innovation Capacities Based On Reverse Engineering

The small and medium sized enterprises (SME) have positive effect on the enhancing economic growth and relieving employment pressure. However, due to quick technological transformation, fierce market competition and individualized and differentiated consumption, the SME would face a serious challenge. They should have the independent innovation capacity for survival and development more than quick response capacity for market. The independent innovation can be classified into three types. There are prime innovation, integration innovation and reverse engineering. The SME can not implement prime innovation and integration innovation for their shorting for capital, technological accumulation and human resources. For this reason, implementing the reverse engineering is an ideal way. Therefore, the paper studies on the enhancing the SME's independent innovation based on the engineering.Upon getting a clear understanding of current situation of the SME, the paper makes a theoretical and empirical analysis on the independent innovation of SME with the management method and economics method. It analyses the mechanism and possibility of exalting the independent innovation based on the reverse engineering. It extracts the inspiration and suggestion which benefits to implement reverse engineering strategy in small and medium-sized enterprises. And it makes the policy advices for government at macro aspect and strategic suggestions.The paper is sponsored by main program of national soft science fund and Shanxi soft science fund. It consists of five parts, as follow:Part one is introduction. It is a review on the study status of technological innovation and the reverse engineering at home and abroad. And it defines the scope of research and introduces the study background, research method, the frame of the paper and its'main work.Part two is about the discussion of the relationship of the reverse engineering and the independent innovation and come to a conclusion that the reverse engineering is one kind of strategies of independent innovation. Then it applies the method of the SWOT to analyses the advantages and disadvantages of technology, production and market and the risk of the reverse engineering. Finally, it compares the input, output and the success rate of the reverse engineering with the prime-innovation.Part three is empirical analysis. At first,it analyses the current situations of the small and medium-sized enterprises. Furthermore, the paper discusses international experience, Economic possibility and technological possibility of implement of the reverse engineering strategy in small and medium sized enterprises. And it comes to a conclusion that the strategy of the reverse engineering can be implemented in the small and medium-sized enterprises.Part four is case study and policy suggestions. It empirically analyses the strategy of reverse engineering of Tencent Inc. Then, the paper extracts the inspiration and suggestion which benefits to implement reverse engineering strategy in the SME. Based on above discussions, it makes the policy advices for government at macro aspect and strategic suggestions for enterprises at micro aspect.Part five is conclusion. For the above study, enhancing SME's independent innovation capacities based on reverse Engineering is necessary, feasible, rationally select and practical path to catch up from behind.
