Influencing Factors On Farming Level Of Agricultural Mechanization Of Gansu Province

At the present stage, agriculture of our country has changed from traditional agriculture to modern agriculture. It is necessary to realize agricultural industrialization and production mechanization for reaching the goal of agricultural modernization. The important measure to solve problems for agriculture of our country is to accelerate the development of agricultural mechanization.In Gansu province, the factors limiting the development of agricultural mechanization and increase of its level operation are as follows: the weak agricultural basis, low farmer income, poor production condition, scarce water resource, extension lagging of agricultural machinery and insufficient support of government for agricultural machinery. It is necessary to accelerate the development of agricultural mechanization in Gansu province for improving the development of national economy, building harmonious society and realizing agricultural sustainable development.Based on the grey correlation degree, correlation analysis and regression analysis, the data of 17 factors from 1990 to 2006 in Gansu province dealing with five aspects including countryside workforce, buying and use of agricultural machinery, farmer income, agricultural natural resource and production scale, power implements were used to analyze the effect degree of every factor on the farming level of agricultural mechanization. After determining the main affecting factors, seven factors were chosen to establish regression equation to analyze boundary effect and influences of these factors on farming level of agricultural mechanization, finally the most important factors were determined.Based on grey correlation analysis, the importance of the six- kind factors influencing the fanning level of agricultural mechanization of Gansu province were determined as the following order: buying and use of agriculture machinery, farmer income, power implements, countryside workforce, agricultural natural resource and production scale. According to correlation degree, the main factors to influence the farming level of agricultural mechanization of Gansu province include per capita net income of farmers, the number of rural labor forces with education degree over junior high school, the number of small tractors, income from plant industry, income from village township industry, price index of mechanized farm implements, per capita irrigated farmland, per capita strip field, fuel price index.Correlation analysis showed that agriculture machinery operation area had linear correlation relationship with the following factors, including per capita net income of farmers, the number of rural labor forces with education degree over junior high school, the number of small tractors, income from plant industry, income from village township industry, price index of agriculture machinery and per capita irrigated farmland. Agriculture machinery operation area was closely positive correlated to per capita net income of farmers, the number of rural labor forces with education degree over junior high school, the number of small tractors, income from plant industry, income from village township industry, moderately positive correlated to per capita irrigated farmland, moderately negative correlated to price index of mechanized farm implements.Based on regression analysis, dominant factors influencing fanning level(operation area)of agricultural machinery of Gansu province were found, including the number of small tractors, price index of mechanized farm implements.According to the former results, considering current status of agriculture and agricultural mechanization, the measures to improve farming level of agricultural machinery and increase operation area of agriculture machinery are put forward. It will provide basis for the governments at all levels to make policy to improve the development of agricultural mechanization of Gansu province.
