Focused on grass-roots staff training in a enterprise engaging in the Port industry, this paper includes the case and case study.In "The case", The background is a container terminal with many years of operating experience, but in a fast growth. Three typical cases are selected to describe problems existed in the first-line technical staff training, reflecting the following shortcomings in the management of the Grass-roots technical training: Lack of training system and restraint system; Training needs analysis is a mere formality; The first-line technical staff's work an study attitude is lack of attention.In "The case study", the author present some important theory from training theory's origin and development, which is uesed for tools to analyse the training status quo. According to the analysis of the material in the case, the author point out the reasons for the problems, and the way to to improve the current situation.In the last, the paper point solutions to improve the quality of training and the staff's attitude of work and study. Based on the training model to improve the training process: including training needs analysis, development of training programs, organizing training, assessment of the effectiveness of training. The paper also put forward measures to improve the the new technical staff training. The third, the author commend to creat a positive learning organization and establishment employees' sharing knowledge base to improve the work and study attitude of the front-line staff and the knowledge-sharing atmosphere.
