At present, with the development of the Western Region, the revitalization of the Northeastern old industrial bases and some other measures carrying out, the downfall of the Central Region highlights the problem gradually, the "Rise of Central China" is imperative. In order to change the current situation, adjusting and optimizing the industrial structure is becoming the top task. With regard to the industrial development, the most important thing is to select the appropriate industries. There are a lot of researches on the selection of industry, such as leading industries, supporting industries, strategic industries etc. most of which achieved some results, but there are still some problems, such as industry convergence, redundant construction, waste of resources and so on, which require us to broaden our minds further, and to look for a new path of the selection of industry.As a new concept, advantageous industries which is based on "advantages", does a better job on choosing the region's industries, it has much more regional characteristics, and can give full play to the region's advantages. And advantageous industries can also promote the region's industrial structure adjustment and development much better.This thesis redefines the advantageous industries on the basis of the "Advantage theory" from international trade. Based on this new concept, we select the evaluation index system of advantageous industries. And then based on the research and analysis of the current situation of industrial development in the central area, we use both qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis methods to give the central regions' industries an overall analysis. At last ascertain the advantageous industries of the central regions. The main content of the thesis is as follows:Firstly, According to the redefinition of the advantageous industries, the author highlights the advantages, regional, and sustainable development, and analyzes the advantages and necessity for selecting advantageous industries through analyzing its mechanism in the areas and the differences from other industries, as well as the characteristics and advantages of industry. Then the thesis analyzes and evaluates the methods for selecting the appropriate industries;Secondly, Through a detailed in-depth analysis of the industry in the central region, the thesis points out the advantages, problems and difficulties in the current industrial development in Central Regions, and ascertains the necessity and importance for selecting the advantageous industries, then determine and select the advantageous industries in the central regions, through which we can promote the adjustment and upgrade the regions' industrial structure;Thirdly, this thesis identifies the evaluating index system of advantageous industries from three facets: the advantages of the production factors, the advantages of market and the advantages of sustainable development, then uses the principal component analysis to analyze the Central Industrial industry, ascertains the model of evaluation of "dominant industries", results in the scores of every industries and ranking them. At last, determines the dominant industries of the central regions;Fourthly, this thesis uses both quantitative and qualitative methods to evaluate and analyze the industries of central regions, and at last combines the first and tertiary industries of the central regions to determine the advantageous industries comprehensively.Finally, the author analyzes the industries which were selected before, and gives the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions for the central region, which will contribute to the adjustment and optimization of the industrial structure in central regions.
