Risk assessment of gas pipeline is based on data, operating experience and intuitive understanding. Through comparing the data of pipeline risk, it provide a reliable scientific basis for management decision-making and more rational use of resources to take more appropriate measures. In order to achieve the most effective to reduce losses and protect the environment. The concept, connotation, research range and theory system of Pipeline Risk Assessment have been brought up. Based on the study of building theories, constructing principles, screening method and evaluation criterion, the assessment index system and evaluation system hav been improved. Focus on the Longgang gas field, this paper brought up Pipeline Risk Assessment. Using research techniques as material research, theoretical analysis, multi-objective decision and synthetical evaluation, this paper has carried out a thorough research on Pipeline Risk Assessment theory. The construction which conclude the Pipeline Risk Assessment theory and Pipeline Risk Assessment index system.Last but not lest, the Longgang gas field were chosed as the example of Pipeline Risk Assessment. The assessment result indicates that the pipeline risk degree of the Longgang gas field is up to the little degree. The pipeline is safe and the protection of pipe is in the better condition. The inadequate was mainly due to natural disasters. It is necessary to make the necessary protective measures.Pipeline Risk Assessment can give the degree of the risk of the pipeline. It provide a kind of guidance and technical support for the management work in theprocess of pipeline construction and operation.
