Performance Management is the central content of Human Resources Management which will be the core of the Management Science of 21st Century. But currently majority of enterprises of our country are unaware of the importance of Performance Management, which is also failed to be established to a scientific system.The purpose of the thesis is to thorough analyse and research the present situation of the Performance Management of FAW Car, and point out the problems of it, finally suggest to improve. With respect of FAW Car Co., Ltd., the construction of its performance management system remains in the elementary stage just like that for most of Chinese enterprises, although it has established detail human resources strategy and well-defined core values of human resources as well as a complete set of procedures around its goals. Non-scientific and imperfect performance management is one of reasons that causes serious descent in profit of FAW Car Co., Ltd., and makes this company to face serious profit-making crisis for the past two years. After thorough analysis, it is believed that the issues existing in the performance management system of FAW Car Co., Ltd. are mainly reflected in the following five aspects: Insufficient understanding of difference between performance examination and performance management; thinking that performance management is only the responsibility of the human resources department of the company; seeking urgently for performance management but neglecting the real issues; lack of human-oriented concept; insufficient recognition of performance feedback. So, in consideration of correlative theories of modern performance management and practical conditions of FAW Car Co., Ltd., the performance management system of FAW Car Co., Ltd. needs to be re-designed, and in view of the above issues, the author forwards the related solution, including: Enterprises must establish rational consciousness of performance, because all the organizations, managers and staff need scientific performance management; enterprises must use scientific performance examination approaches, because performance examination is a complicated work combining theory with practice.Finally, for how to smoothly implement the performance management process, the author forwards that the orderly popularization of performance management system will not only require available scientific performance plan, vigorous support from senior management and reasonable examination mode, but also need rational combination of performance management approaches by all departments, and attention to organic integration between performance of enterprise and development of individual persons.
