Study On The Production Layout Of Broiler In China

Broiler industry is a newly-coming industry in China, which becomes most advanced in livestock industry's industrial operation, and brings largest number of foreign exchange and drives most extensive relevant industry. Broiler becomes effective strength to impel China's livestock development, to some extent, improves the employment situations in the rural area, increases the peasants' income, and so plays an irreplaceable role in the economic development in these areas.Whether Broiler industry can be sustainable developed in China's new market environment concerns the issues about China's agricultural development, rural economic structure adjustment, farmers' income increase and so on. So it's full of practical meaning to conduct research on China's Broiler district comparative advantages and production layout. Based on this point, through which we can point out the advantageous production areas, which will be useful to adjust broiler production layout and properly make use of district limited resources to improve efficiency of resources allocation.Based on present theories of production layout and comparative advantage, this study utilizes some methods like district concentration degree coefficient, EF coefficient, probability advantage, comprehensive comparative advantage and so on. Author establishes the framework of China's broiler production layout and district comparative advantage, under which author conducts analysis on China's broiler development and its production situation. Applying computation method, author calculates China broiler production layout situation and its variation trend and difference of each area's broiler production comparative advantage. Meanwhile, this research analyzes the influential factors on production layout change and its comparative advantages.Some conclusions can be listed as follows: China's broiler production bears trend from east to middle areas. China's broiler production layout is still dispersed, which has characteristic to expand in spatial layout. What else, various differences existing in each district lead to some differences on broiler comparative advantage among different main production districts and departure from the average standard of China, but total production layout accords with comparative advantage. Factors influencing broiler district comparative advantage and its production layout variation are multiple, which mainly can be divided from two aspects. First is the economic factors such as production cost, price, market demand and so on. Anther one is non-economic factors like natural condition and environmental protection. But comparative advantage and production layout change are the common result from various factors. Economic factors play more and more important part in it.Some suggestions and countermeasures to develop China's broiler are provided in the last part of this study.
