With the integration of global economies, logistics is facing ever increasing requirements because of the fast increasing economy. At the same time, according to the expeditious changing of the customer requirement and market situation, logistics has become the bottleneck of many enterprises and the key factor to gain core competency at present. As a result, enterprises begin to consider about logistics outsourcing by handling logistics operation to the professional third party logistics (3PL) enterprises. However, most of 3PL enterprises in China are transformed by traditional transportation enterprises, inventory enterprises and other agent enterprises. Few enterprise have the ability to provide comprehensive services. Due to inborn deficiency, the scale and strength of these 3PL enterprises is small and weak, and the network operating organization has not formed. All the factors make fast and satisfied logistics service to customers a difficult problem and the service mode can not follow the requirement of logistics development.Facing variation market environment and limited internal resources intramural, logistics enterprises in China begin to think about the direction of development, in order to adapt to the globalization of logistics operation and market competition and diversification of customer demands, cultivate core competency and provide logistics service for customer satisfaction timely. merger, reorganization, purchase and collaboration alliance have become the focuses of logistics enterprises. Furthermore, there are a lot of obstacles in consolidation across industries under the logistics system in China at present. Therefore, a flexible and relaxed dynamics alliance based on the logistics operation named 3PL enterprises alliance which does not refer to asset consolidation has become an effective approach.Combining the research of 3PL in logistics domain and dynamic alliance in management domain based on logistics enterprises in China, the thesis proposes the concept of 3PL enterprise based on dynamic alliance by discussing the logistics enterprises and analyzing the market environment.In the first chapter, the background and significance of the thesis are introduced, including the concept of dynamic alliance, the reasons that it emerges, the definition of 3PL enterprises dynamic alliance, its meaning and characteristics Literatures are reviewed about 3PL and dynamic alliance in chapter 2. The background against which dynamic alliance emerges is discussed in chapter 3 as the theoretical analysis of 3PL dynamic alliance. Then, a 3PL dynamic alliance model based on the life cycle model is proposed in chapter 4. According to the analysis of 3PL dynamic alliance collaboration partner selection processes and the comprehensive measurement indexes based on core competency, agility and technology, a selection technique by using fuzzy AHP is presented in chapter 5 and a corresponding case is described in chapter 6. Finally, the conclusions and the prospect of 3PL dynamic alliance development in China are put forward.
