| 'The 1980s'witnessed the boom of China's economy, during which they were exposed to more diversified thoughts and materialized wealth. As a result, the transformation of society and life style has made them form a distinctive trait which is quite different from that of their predecessors. This situation results in the low efficiency of current managerial methodology. How to manage this generation comes to be a practical and important issue.This article has made an empirical study on the preferred leadership pattern and vocational values, and also an analysis on how sex, education, company and parents have influenced their preferred leadership pattern and vocational values respectively.The research was initiated via questionnaire. 500 questionnaires were delivered and 466 questionnaires were collected, of which 395 questionnaires were qualified. Statistics methodology like t-test, Anova and Correlation analysis are introduced in this study. The results are as follows:'The 1980s'university students prefer transformational leadership most. Sex, company and parents'education influence their preferred leadership pattern, while their own education and parents'vocation don't.In terminal values,'the 1980s'university students value inner pursuit most, then economic status and altruism. In instrumental values,'the 1980s'university students value ability most, then interpersonal relationship. Analysis also indicated sex, education and parents'background had an influence in their vocational values.Correlation analysis revealed most scales of vocational values have significant correlation with three leadership patterns, which realized the attribution of preferred leadership pattern to vocational values. And this may be a useful source for managers to refer to in the management of'The 1980s'university students. |
