The 21st century is the era of knowledge economy, knowledge undoubtedly become the critical resource for the organization to obtain a competitive advantage. How to effectively obtain and share knowledge, succeed in transferring the knowledge within the organization has become the primary issues. At the same time, with the rapid development of information technology, virtual team has become popular in many multinational companies. Therefore, to search for the factors which impact the knowledge transfer performance in virtual teams will have great significance on improving their core competitiveness.This paper mainly studies the knowledge transfer in virtual teams. The aim is to identify the relationship between the knowledge transfer and the affecting factors. Based on reviewing the related research, this paper constructs the affecting factor model of the virtual team knowledge transfer and raises the corresponding assumption. Then, the investigation is based on the R&D companies located in the Xi'an high-tech industries development zone. This paper uses the SPSS statistical analysis software on the basis of ensuring the reliability and validity of the data, using the correlation analysis and regression analysis to verify the proposed theoretical assumptions. Finally, based on the data analysis this paper proposes some recommendations on improving the performance of knowledge transfer in virtual teams.The paper reached the following conclusions: among all the factors knowledge acceptor is the most important one, then are knowledge transfer background and knowledge itself; the better absorption capacity and strong learning culture have significant positive impact on knowledge transfer; the closed relationship and strong trust between team members have impelled the knowledge transfer in virtual teams; the cross-cultural characteristic of virtual team has negative impact on knowledge.
