Urbanization is the process of territorial expansion of urban areas, its fast development can provide employment opportunities for people coming from rural areas, and it also can offer land permuted from rural residential areas to the urbanization. This change in land use mirrors the development of humanity. Rural residential land is an important type of land use, and its change reflects the evolution of rural society in China.Rural residential land finishing is a branch of land finishing. A systematic research into it will not only improve land management in rural residential areas , raise rural residents' awareness of land conservation, and narrow the gap between urban and rural areas, but also it is an important expression that to be ongoing socialist construction of new rural goal of "clean and tidy village of capacity" country. With rapid socio-economic progress in Mayang County and the promotion of the construction of a new socialist countryside, Mayang Miao Autonomous County (hereinafter referred to Ma County) is getting increasingly prosperous. Therefore, it's of guiding importance to study rural residential areas. This thesis is a conclusion of the research from four main respects:Major study contents and conclusions are as follows:Firstly.it analyzes the meanings of rural residential areas as well as relevant law stipulation; the meanings, the principle, the goal, the rationale of rural residential area finishing; the meanings of potential of rural residential areas finishing as well as influencing factor; the meanings of the suitability assessment of rural settlements finishing, the selection principle and selection method of evaluation index.Secondly.Take the Mayang County in Hunan Province for the study, it studys the current situation and existing problems of residential land use in Mayang County;it analyzes the relationship of urbanization and the change in rural residential land use in Mayang County;it studys the driving force of the change in rural residential land use by principal component analysis;it calculates the finishing potential from per person land standard,per household land standard and not used the place of residential area interior;it constructs the evaluating indicator system from the social factor,the residential area land intensive degree,economic factor,which combines the driving fators of affecting the change in rural residential land use,the fators of affecting rural settlements finishing and Mayang County's reality;it estimates by multiple indicator comprehensive evaluation method and cluster analysis method and compares two kinds of measure results and makes the finishing suitability district chart. Lastly, it summarizes the patterns of rural residential areas finishing.
