| Whether or not a regional spatial structure is reasonable has a significant effect on the regional economy. Spatial structure is especially important in tourism planning in that spatial construction has guiding significance in locating regional tourist edges, deciding the features and directions of regional tourist development, optimizing the function deployment of the tourist region and setting down tourist development strategy.Fujian tourism has been developing at a relatively fast speed, but, with its expansion in terms of space, the existing spatial structure fails to take into consideration the centralizing and radiating effects of major points (major tourist cities) and major development axis, which results in unbalanced development in different tourist regions(industry cluster) and failure to handling the relations between centralization and radiation, equity and benefit, imbalanced development and relatively balanced development. In order to take full advantage of the tourist resources in Fujian Province, bridge the gap between regions and promote a harmonious and continuable interregional development, it's necessary to conduct a thorough analysis and to optimize current tourist spatial structure of Fujian Province. The point-axis theory was put forward by Mr. Lu Dadao, a famous Chinese economic geographer, in 1984. since then, it has been widely applied and had far-reaching influence over China's territorial and regional development. It also has very important theoretical value and practical guiding significance in present regional tourism development. This thesis compares three modes of spatial structure and proposes a creative mode of tourist spatial structure based on the point-axis theory and, through an analysis of current tourist spatial structure in Fujian Province, comes up with a construction plan for Fujian's tourist spatial structure, which is of substantial value in both theoretical exploration and empirical study. |
