Energy Cooperation Between Central Asia And China

The drastic fluctuation in oil prices from 2008 to 2009 has ever enhanced the severity of competition for oil and gas.Energy resource inevitably tops the world concern with the increase of global demand for it.China,as a big energy-consumption country in the process of modernization,has experienced a record-high increase in her demand. Central Asia,rich in oil reserves,proves to be China's best option for energy diversification strategy.The geographical advantage and favorable political and economic relationship developed in Shanghai Cooperation Organization between these two areas has laid a sound foundation for energy resource cooperation.The energy cooperation will promote economic development, mutual benefit and relationship between China and central Asian countries,which will eventually play positive role in the stabilization of the world energy market.
