The biggest transition in China is the transition of economy system from planned economy to free market. This kind of transition leads to a lot of changes in many fields of society. As far as labor relationship as concerned, it has two characteristics:Firstly, in the course of the restructuring market-oriented labor relationship dominant gradually. But it causes the imbalance between the forces of labor relations, violation of labor rights and conflicting of labor relationship. Social stability and building a harmonious society face a severe challenge. Secondly, in the course of government's intervention in labor relations, its intervention restrained to economic development, has some constraints. Therefore, I point out the government intervention in labor relationship is feasible and essential.This article take government' intervention mechanism of the labor relations in the transition period as the research subject. Through the literature analytic and the comparison methodology, combined with the acro-context of social transformation, I analyze the transformation impact of all areas of our country for labor relations. The core of the article constructs a set of government intervention labor relations mechanism which has four aspects including value orientation, the intervention role, the intervention method and the intervention affects.In the end, I give some advice for the improvement of mechanism of government intervention in labor relations. Firstly, the government must change the traditional power from the negative to the positive. Secondly, the government must improve the intervention at the macro, midst, micro levels, for building a harmonious labor relationship, achieving the ultimate goal of building a harmonious society.
