With the development of the need in industry and the competitive market, in recent years, the undergraduates of marketing grow rapidly in quantity, but the effective supply is inadequate. Because follow the traditional theory-based training mode, it is difficult for undergraduates to meet the need of the market. Therefore, in the face of the current economic situation and educational training problems, university must improve the training mode in order to train the application-oriented talents to meet the market demand.This article uses the systematic and macro-research method. Firstly, introduce the notion of application-oriented undergraduate talent and the definition, features, elements of training mode. Secondly, combined with the successful experience of developed countries, point that under a variety of factors, such as the education reform, knowledge-based economy, globalization, the rapid development of China's social and economic, the application nature of marketing major, and changes in idea, we should improve the current training mode continuously. On the other hand, in the basis of investigation and interview, summarize the present problems from the target, training in the quantitative and qualitative deficiencies, curriculum structure to teaching content and teacher quality. Lastly, propose measures to improve the application-oriented undergraduate talent training mode in marketing. By analyzing comprehensively, form the systematic theoretical framework. The framework comprises guiding ideology, targeting, training mode, curriculum system, outside the classroom educational design, regulatory mechanism, security system. The article consists of three parts: theory statement, mode analysis and mode construction.
