Research On The Design Of Performance Evaluation System For Knowledge Management In Virtual Enterprises

Since the 1990s, with the aggravation of the market competition, the diversification of the customer insight and the change of social environment, in short, under the pressure of"3C", the organization of Modern Corporation is developed into simplification and flattening gradually. In this era of knowledge driven economy, more and more corporations have adopted a new organizational form which is called Virtual Enterprises (abbreviated VE) to adapt themselves to the market opportunity which may disappear in a moment. For this, VE has been hot issue in research of both management and enterprise circles. The essence of VE is virtualized and digitized. What's more, information and knowledge resources are the fundamental ingredient for virtual enterprises operating. Therefore, it is critical and necessary for VE to choose to manage information and knowledge resources effectively.Performance Evaluation is taken as the basic premise for enterprise knowledge management. Moreover, it is of great important in Virtual Enterprises Knowledge Management (abbreviated VEKM). The performance evaluation of VEKM aims at assisting enterprises in finding what critical factors contributing to enterprise performance are, taking effective measures in time, and raising VEKM levels. However, at present there is hardly any research on the issue of performance evaluation in VEKM, not to mention studies on the basis System Design.The aim and purpose of this research project is to design a platform of performance evaluation system for VEKM. Based on many research techniques, such as, the interdisciplinary approach, horizontal comparative analysis, and so on, fused the point of view of management science, the design idea of system flow in computer science and the basic idea of Performance Appraisal System Design in financial accounting together, from analyzing relatively stable component in different organizational context in different process of VEKM, in this paper has been elaborated the main content of VEKM and the problem on the knowledge flow of VE. What's more, a common process mode for VEKM has been to be discussed. Based on the study above, the business processes model and the frame of performance evaluation for knowledge management in VE have been established. And ultimately, in this paper has been tentatively designed a platform of performance evaluation system for knowledge management in VE, which owes two outstanding properties—general purpose and extensive applicability.
